It is assumed that CI,

will continue to handle A/29.

4. Since the primary ration for A/29's being in Belgium is to determine the desirability-of his being assigned -there permanently, it is suggested that pressure be kept on him to report his findings and operational leads. It is further suggested that all operational sorrespondince from A/29 to A/2 be forwarded fromC_ _13 to Washington by MARK channels for passage to A/2 here. 5. On the bowie of past reporting and interviews here with A/29 and A/2, the general situation with A/29 can be summarized as relieve: a. A/2 will be more than happy to have4/29 work an his staff in New York if the permanent Belgium assignment does not materialize; on the other band, if we desire A/29 in Belgium, A/2 will go along with this. b. There is some potential evident in Belgium in the Ukrainian emigration, and it will probably be in the Ukrainian emigration that A/29 will be most effective. c. A/29 will have to have the benefit of strong general direction and contra in order to realize the potential. in Belgium. Distribution: 2-LL.
